Arts Integration Model
According to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, D.C., arts integration is “an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject and meets evolving objectives in both.”
That is a long definition, and Baden Academy's arts integration model may be a little difficult to understand. But put more simply, our teachers are creating lessons that draw on both Pennsylvania Core and Academic Standards and the National Core Arts Standards in order to (1) broaden our students' awareness of connections between subjects, and then (2) deepen their understanding of what they're learning.
We created this video to show you how our teachers use the arts to bring life to learning and learning to life for their students at Baden Academy.
