Baden Academy is committed to offering an enriching educational experience for all our students. As a charter school, we have a specific mission to use the visual and performing arts as a foundation for creative and meaningful learning, and to highlight scientific inquiry as a way to promote critical thinking skills.
In addition to our core academic curriculum that is enhanced through arts integration, we offer weekly classes in art, music, instrumental music, and theater; all of our students receive Spanish classes beginning in Kindergarten; and we offer unique experiences for learning through our school’s Media Lab. This means all our students are exposed to multiple ways of thinking and learning.
We also look for ways to enhance learning even more for those showing particular interests and talents. An average of 50 students take part in our Media Lab’s Fellowship Programs each year, dozens of students participate in after-school clubs (most of which are led by their classmates), and dozens more are active in our in-school theater and art enrichment classes that provide additional opportunity for artistic development. We also offer extremely high-level theater productions that involve well over 100 students each year, along with multiple opportunities for field trips, competitions, and mentorships that build upon students’ interests and abilities.
Baden Academy also tailors individualizes educational programs for our students who are identified as gifted with GIEPs, using a combination of differentiated instruction, small group work, and acceleration options. By valuing and prioritizing enrichment programs from an early age, Baden Academy shows a commitment to promoting children’s academic growth, social development, and emotional health.
